I thought that this was quite a creative and great clean reads ebook teaching kids about jazz music,etc. and how to have fun with music. I recommend this for especially any young kids and up who likes music a lot. And lots of colorful pictures too. a these are my reason for giving this ebook five stars. I bought this book because it is important for young people to know about jazz and “scat†singing. I love that the character is based on my favorite singer, Al Jarreau.
I purchased this book on my Kindle for my little nephews and my god-daughters. They loved the interactive abilities the book came with. Even though the little ones could not read, they were able to follow along with the author and responded gleefully to the different sounds on each page. I highly recommend this book for children. Carmen Rubin knows how to captivate the mind and interest of children.
This book is the perfect introduction to music education for children. Beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written, Ashti Meets Birdman Al picks up where music teachers have been forced to leave off in this time of education cuts and removals of music programs from schools. It is also refreshing to see the family dynamic in the book and to have a positive representation of family life in the African American community.
